Zur Feldman

Chairman

Zur has over 20 years of executive experience working with high-tech, high-growth companies and venture capital firms. His experience spans start-ups to billion dollar corporations.

Prior to joining WeFi, Zur Feldman was a venture partner in Pitango, Israel's largest VC firm, where he focused on various investment initiatives in public and matured companies.

Prior to Pitango, Zur Feldman was selected by Microsoft, Echostar, Gilat and ING to co-found and lead StarBand Communications Inc., the first high-speed two-way consumer satellite broadband service in the world. He served as Chairman and CEO for the next 5 years and created a "new category" of satellite Internet services, serving tens of thousands of customers living in rural areas across the US, Central America, Mexico and Canada.

For the 13 years prior to joining StarBand, Zur served in different Senior Executive positions at Packard Bell Electronics. As the Executive Vice President of Operations, Zur managed a massive relocation of Packard Bell's HQ operations following the Northbridge earthquake in 1995 - resulting in the largest PC manufacturing facility in the world, housed under a singe roof. While at Packard Bell, Zur led the integration efforts for several acquired companies including; Zenith Corp. and NEC USA Corp.

Zur Feldman is a graduate of the Harvard Business School program for Senior Executives, the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and Management for Executives and of the Business and Management program at UCLA, CA. Zur holds a B.A. in Photojournalism, TV Broadcasting and Communications from New York University, N.Y.

Shimon Scherzer

Co-founder, CTO

Shimon Scherzer has over 20 years of experience in the cellular sector with specific expertise in cellular network performance and radio technologies. Shimon has managed programs and R&D efforts in theses fields both as a Captain in the military and as a senior executive and founder of technology companies.

Prior to founding WeFi, Shimon founded Kiwi Networks. Kiwi Networks developed radio interference resistant communication links. Kiwi Networks was acquired by Colubris Networks. Prior to Kiwi, Shimon founded Adaptive Telecom which built smart antenna solutions for CDMA base stations. Adaptive Telecom was acquired by Metawave Communications.

Shimon is the inventor of more than 25 patents. He holds a BScEE from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

Michelle Trainor

VP US Operations

As VP of US Operations Michelle is responsible for the US Market; managing all US Marketing, Business Development and Operations for WeFi.

Michelle has over 18 years of experience working with telecommunications providers and high-tech start-ups. Michelle has a unique combination of technical and operations business experience. Michelle was an executive in Accenture's Communications & High Tech practice for 10 years, until moving on to become CIO and VP of Product Development for an Internet Service Provider. After leaving her position as CIO, Michelle worked as the VP of Sales and Customer Lifecycle Management for GlowPoint, Inc., a video conferencing network provider. Most recently Michelle served as the COO of ApproxiMatch Inc. a search engine company serving the Internet Yellow Pages market.

Tamir Scherzer

Co-founder, VP Research and Development

Tamir Scherzer brings 15 years of experience in communications engineering to WeFi. Prior to joining WeFi, Tamir led the System and Architecture team at Modemart, a 3G cellular chip company which was acquired by Agere. Before, Modemart, Tamir was a product manager and researcher at Paragon Communications, which developed high-efficiency cellular base-station amplifiers. Prior to Paragon, Tamir led large communication engineering teams as a Captain in the IDF Intelligence Core.

Tamir holds MScEE and BScEE degrees from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

Amit Shaked

VP Products and Web

In his role as VP of Web and Products, Amit oversees the design and delivery of new products. He manages the Internet development and online marketing strategies.

Amit brings more than 18 years of technology and product development leadership to the WeFi management team.

Prior to joining WeFi, Amit was General Manager and VP of Product Technologies at SmartShopper.com, a spin-off from Hotbar.com, which was acquired by Zango. Before Hotbar, Amit served as VP R&D for Finjan Software, a prominent web content security company.

Prior to Finjan, Amit served as G.M. and VP R&D at SoftWatch, a pioneering e-health company (acquired by eWave), co-founder and VP Products of Enbaya, developer of 3D graphics compression and streaming technologies, and CTO of Composit Communications.

Amit served 6 years as a technical officer in the IDF Military Intelligence, ranking as Major (in reserve). Amit holds M.Sc and B.Sc. in Computer Science and Mathematics from Tel Aviv University.

Barry Eggers

General Partner, Lightspeed Venture Partners

Mr. Eggers has eleven years of venture capital experience and ten years of operating experience.

Mr. Barry Eggers is a founding partner of Lightspeed and focuses primarily on investments in the areas of infrastructure technologies, communications and networking, digital media, and semiconductors.

Prior to joining Lightspeed, from 1991-1997, Mr. Eggers held senior business development and operational roles at Cisco Systems. While at Cisco, he was responsible for establishing several of the company's largest distribution channels with OEMs, system integrators and VARs. Also at Cisco, he developed the initial merger and acquisition process and directed the first wave of Cisco's acquisitions and integrations.

Mr. Eggers has been named multiple times to the Forbes Midas List of top venture capital investors.

He holds a BA in Economics and Business from UCLA and an MBA from Stanford University.

Rami Kallish

Managing General Partner, Co-Founder, Pitango Venture Capital

Mr. Rami Kalish has extensive experience in venture capital and international management in the high-tech environment. Mr. Kalish has been active in the field of venture capital since 1992, and has served as Managing General Partner since that time. Prior to founding Pitango (originally under the name Polaris), Mr. Kalish garnered rich managerial experience at high-technology firms in the U.S., Europe and Israel. He previously held sales and marketing positions at IBM and senior executive roles at Orbotech (NASDAQ:ORBK), a leading manufacturer of capital equipment for the PCB and semiconductor industries.

He earned a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Information Science from the Technion Institute of Technology.

Beyond WeFi some of the Board of Directors on which Mr. Kalish previously served include VocalTec (VOCL), Retalix (RTLX), Optibase (OBAS), RADWARE (RDWR) and he currently serves on the Board of Directors of Surf, ForeScout and Comsys, among others. Mr. Kalish was, for many years, also a member of the Board of the Israel Venture Association (IVA).

Dr. Yossi Vardi

Dr. Vardi is one of the pioneers of the high-tech industry in Israel.

Dr. Vardi leverages his broad technology background and experience gained from a successful track record of high-tech ventures and investments, to provide valuable insight into emerging markets, technologies, and companies. Dr Vardi is the founding investor and the former Chairman of Mirabilis Ltd, the creator of the highly popular instant messaging program ICQ. The company was acquired by AOL, to which he still serves as an advisor.

Dr. Vardi is also a veteran of a long civil service career where he served the Government of Israel as Director General of the Development and Energy ministries, and served as special advisor to the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Finance during Israel's peace negotiations. He was on the Advisory Board of the Bank of Israel, and is actively involved in several public organizations and institutions. Dr. Vardi is a graduate of the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, where he earned Doctor of Science degree (thesis awarded the Kennedy - Leigh prize), a Master of Science degree (dissertation with distinction) in Operations Research, and a Bachelor of Science degree (summa cum laude) in Industrial Management Engineering.

Arnon Kohavi

Co-founder & Board Observer

Arnon Kohavi has over 15 years of experience in the wireless industry as a senior executive in roles of business development, marketing and strategic planning.

Arnon is the co-founder of Mapplr, an online service for people who love eating out and traveling. He is also in the process of launching other consumer-based Internet companies with the goal of creating useful applications for Internet users worldwide.

Arnon co-founded and served as the CEO of WeFi. Prior to WeFi he was a Fellow at the Reuters Digital Vision Program at Stanford University, where he developed WiFi solutions that help developing countries increase penetration of wireless communications and bridge the "digital divide".

Prior to Reuters, Arnon led the initial public offering and follow-on offerings of DSPC and Vyyo on Nasdaq (raised $1 billion) and the sale of DSPC to Intel for $1.6 billion in 1999. Other companies that Arnon worked or advised include DSP Group, Zen Research and Magnolia Broadband.

Arnon holds a BA degree in Economics and Management from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and a MBA degree from the Anderson School at UCLA.
