Every WiFi spot that has been mapped by a WeFi user has its own Spotpage. The spot will show as mapped by the member who first mapped it, and should be registered to the owner of that wireless access spot. If you own a WiFi spot, you’ll soon be able to customize your Spotpage. Tell the world what’s going on at your local cafe, or upload your family pictures. (You can even use Flicker to upload your own photos, or any photos associated with that spot’s location.)
Very soon you will be able to see local reviews, events, and other users’ experience of the WiFi and spots around you.
Currently you can see all WeFi users on the map, provided they’ve chosen to show their location. Your friends can see you too, unless you’re hiding your location.
To enhance community sociability and enable your friends to see you, we encourage you to choose “show my location” when registering. You may choose to temporarily hide your location by changing your “Privacy Settings” to “Appear as anonymous user” in WeFi -> File -> Edit Profile.
The option to only see your friends will be available soon.
Please note that the accuracy of each location is, at best, at city block level.
